Ceramic Industry

Ceramics is that any of the various hard, brittle, heat-resistant, and corrosion-resistant materials made by shaping and then firing a non-metallic mineral, such as clay, at a high temperature.

Ceramics are there in everyday life starting from crockeries to the high-end applications of aerospace. Different grades of alumina are used in the tiles, sanitary ware, and cookware industries to develop special effects and property enhancements. Alumina because of its high strength, abrasion resistance, and thermal shock-withstanding properties, is even used for bioceramics such as bone replacement, dental ceramics, and even for body armor.
